POST TITLE : Senior Project Engineer (BE - Civil) (Male)

Myanmar International Consultants Co., Ltd (MMIC) is seeking for middle aged Civil Engineer as per below qualification, experiences and brief ToR.

  • At least Bachelor Degree (BE -Civil Engineer) with more than 10 years experiences with infrastructure and development projects in Myanmar or on abroad.
  • Communication skills in English and must have computer skills is essential for daily effective and efficient communication made with international firms.
  • Prefer experiences in dealing with Government departments, International/National firms relating to various types of projects/business.
  • Willing to travel to NayPyi Taw to coordinate, collaborate and facilitate as necessary with the client Ministries for project concerns.
  • Frequently visit to project sites for monitoring, supervision and facilitation for smooth and successful implementation of the project.
  • Leadership skills is necessary to lead and manage the office for various ongoing projects and to identify future opportunities/projects/ assignments etc:.
  • Should have good Presentation skills and quality Reporting skills.

Position : National Food processing Training Specialist

National Food processing training specialist

The National Food Processing Training Specialist will assume overall responsibility for new product development and upgrading existing products aligned with the needs of emerging market demand and using information from Value Chain Assestment, Training needs analysis, and Market Studies. Particularly the specialist will support the project in all aspects of the food safety requierement and standards for the food processed products that wil be develop by the project (mainly related but not restricted to: traditional fruit jam and biscuits), including their improvement, upgrade and re-design.

Implementation of the food processing activities will include the following activities:

  1. Conduct a detailed Training needs analysis for exiting products and design training modules for the development of new products. New methods of production will be introduced that improve the level of food hygiene and where possible. Assist producers acquire national certification of national food safety standards.
  2. The consultant will have access to laboratories to test food quality and engineer prototypes for new and improved processed foods;
  3. The consultant will also address issues associated with hygienic packaging and improving the shelf life of processed foods;
  4. Adopting a similar approach to the National Handicraft Training Specialist, select, train and improve the skills of master trainers and design and supervise the delivery of all training courses;
  5. Provide specifications and advice on the procurement of food processing equipment for individual home-based producers and the food processing facility and provide inputs into the design of the crafts and food market in Mawlamyine (specifically restaurants and eating spaces);
  6. Provide specific inputs into annual work plans, progress reports and post relevant information for posting to the project’s website
  7. The consultant will report to the International Team Leader

Consultant´s profile (professional capabilities and skills):

  1. The consultant will work as a focal point for all handicraft, activities and products that our project will deliver within the next years (with extensive field work, the consultant must be able to travel frequently among our four townships: Mudon, Chaungzone, Mawlamyine and Kyaikhto).
  2. The consultant must have the capacity to coordinate, organize and follow up all technical trainings related to handicrafts with national and international consultants.
  3. The consultant must prepare and deliver high quality: activity proposals, training reports, budgets in English, and inputs for project website, annual work plans and progress reports.
  4. The consultant must be able to communicate effectively with international consultants, being able to read, write and talk in English and Myanmar.
  5. The consultant will prepare and updated all training manuals (in Myanmar) for each of the products related to position.
  6. Preferably, with 5 years of experience in similar positions.
  7. Good computer skills.
